When it comes to dental care for your children, you want the best—something that's not only effective but also safe and aesthetically pleasing. At Burien Children's Dentistry, we understand the importance of providing high-quality, child-friendly dental solutions. That's why we offer tooth-colored fillings, a superior alternative to traditional metal fillings.
Tooth-colored fillings, also known as composite fillings, are made from a durable resin that matches the natural color of your child’s teeth. Unlike metal fillings, which are noticeable when your child smiles or talks, these fillings blend seamlessly with the rest of the tooth, making them an excellent choice for both front and back teeth.
Aesthetically Pleasing: Tooth-colored fillings are designed to match your child's natural tooth color, making them virtually invisible. This is especially important for children, who may feel self-conscious about their appearance.
Safe and Non-Toxic: Unlike silver amalgam fillings that contain mercury, tooth-colored fillings are made from safe materials. They are mercury-free and do not pose any health risks, making them a safer option for your child's dental care.
Durable and Long-Lasting: Modern composite materials are extremely durable and can withstand the daily wear and tear that comes with chewing. They bond directly to the tooth structure, which helps prevent further decay and provides a strong, lasting solution.
Preserve More of the Natural Tooth: One of the biggest advantages of tooth-colored fillings is that they require less removal of the natural tooth structure compared to metal fillings. This means that more of your child’s healthy tooth is preserved, which is better for their long-term dental health.
Quick and Easy Process: Getting a tooth-colored filling is a straightforward process. After removing the decayed portion of the tooth, we will clean the area and apply the composite material in layers, curing it with a special light. The entire process is quick, ensuring your child’s comfort and minimizing time spent in the dental chair.
